Well i am getting a new graphics card so there for i am selling my old card to someone i know (not a freind) so i need to know how much is this card worth? had for 3+ years (was a birthday prezzie from my wife which she had paid £200+)

Just like the Vauxhall Nova was a cracking car, but you wouldn't expect to pay more than £500 for a one in a decent condition
Agreed with the £30-40 price tag, and personally, I wouldn't even pay that for it.
Best bet is to stick it on Ebay with no starting bid - should slowly climb, and will probably eclipse it's true value.
I think the fact its in mint condition certainly helps its case - though I paid 72 for a 9700 pro, which is probably 2x as fast. That said, it came in an anti static bag, nothing else, so I guess you get what you pay for!

Seriously Ebay is the best bet - I'm a good believer in low starting price = higher end price. It generates interest as it grows, people follow the auction, and you'll probably end up getting close to £50 on Ebay.
I'm not responsible if it reaches £10 and dies though
