Nah, Coldplay are better than Keane - Keane have some decent singles, but if you listen to the album, there is nothing else that stands out - it's quite plain and uninspiring - Coldplay are much more consistant and reliable in that sense IMO.

For a similar paced, guitar based sound, you could check out the 1st 3 albums by Radiohead - their more recent albums have been quite 'electronic' in comparison. The Bends and OK Computer are absolute masterpieces.

Coldplay are depressing, but actually decent. Keave live, at i think T- In the Park was hillarious because they were shockingly bad. DREADFULL live, and live music is what makes a band

The Bends isnt in coldplay style at all, its as gav said, a masterpiece, huge variation. And of course, Thom yorke can actually sing

Travis are even bigger dullards that Coldplay, and don't get me started on Athlete! the way that singer pronounces half of the words with extra emphasis for no reason whatsoever really does my head in!

out of all that have been mentioned here, I think radiohead are the best. they can do slow and boring, but can also do some rockier stuff.

Muks, i agree about Athlete - also, they just sound too much like they want to be Coldplay anyway. Doves are mildly similar, but a bit more energetic.

Although i've not heard anything other than what they've had played on the radio, Embrace sound a lot like Coldplay. In fact, i searched using lyrics to get the name of their song (Gravity), and someone had submitted it as being recorded by Coldplay
