Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Marty Friedman and Yngwie Malmsteen are my favourtire guitarists. i preffer instrumental rock.

steve vai is cool.. don't like the other fellas tho... to me the best guitarist has gotta be jimi fallowed by slash... as for bass players.. i dunno don't have a fav.. i think "Duff" McKagen is pretty good..

I hate Steve Vai's music, sure its technically impressive but I just find it incredibly boring.

Yeah i hate all those 100 mph solos as well, and not just cause i can't do them. Give me some anti-solos anyday. Like in Scentless apprentice, its really easy just bending the high and low E strings up the neck, but it sounds class.

technically impressive is what makes it so fun and interesting to listen to, and as for 100mph solo's u guys obviously didnt grow up listening to thrash/heavy metal, speed metal and death metal like i did :P

100 mph solo's can be good.. like zakk wylde stuff and eddie van halen... but other then that i don't like them..

Guitar solos are shite 99% of the time. They take over the song rather than work with it

Nothing more annoying than having a decent song that is destroyed by some, technically impressive, but crap, exagerated solo stuck in it randomly.

A guitar solo should work with the song, not try and be the song
