Shrews are not even rodents - they are insectivores like moles and hedgehogs. Their dentition is way different.

The porcupine, however, is a rodent.

Though rabbits have a similar dentition than rodents, they are Lagomorphae or more precise Leporidae.

They are still nice - some of them.

The ones a mate of mine had kept peeing on the newspaper whenever they were brought into the house. I actually remember once also them walking across the TV remote control and retuning the telly :D

Hamsters can be pretty aggressive,

I think agressive is often confused with being curious. We have two hamsters, one died a few months ago, but she would often bite ur fingure if u put it near her. It was not agression, because she would happily stand at the egde of the cage and let you tickle her (she loved that :P) but rather her way of finding out what stuff is. They dont really know it will cause you pain. The other hamster tends to lick ur fingure rather than bite it - again, jsut being curious.

My baby daughter is at that stage right now, licking and biting things to find out what they are, and, more importantly, if they taste nice and can be eaten. She doesnt know that if she bites you it will cause you pain.

Guinea pigs do that, too. Hamsters also bite when they feel like being attacked. Guinea pigs don't even do that (most of the time). Their only defense is usually to run away or play dead.

I had a hamster once, it was a right savage little bugger. My cousin's gerbil eats plastic, and my goldfish eats gravel.

BTW, to get this topic back on-topic, can you see the picture in my sig?
