So.. what u guys think? Whats the best file system for linux. just got Mandrake 9.2 and want to instal. The last time I had linux on my system was 2001. And rite now.. I cant remember...





AMD64 3400+ (running at 2,66ghz atm ;))DDR400 1gb(running at 433) Asus K8N-E Deluxe mobo, 6800ultra, Tagan tg-480w, Audigy 2Zs, Logitech Z-5500 speakers
Using X-aser Lanfire case with 5 fans inside cathodelights etc included aswell :P

Oh, and tone down your sig, the limit here is 20k, and yours is at 39k.

As for the "1 hour" I'm sure it's been more than 1 hour now...
I suppose no-one in here is using linux.. oh well, I instaled my new OS now..

All I know is that a lot of people use RedHat

well all linuxes have same file system, because they have same kernel. but you can select which "brand" of linux you wan't to use. mandrake is popular and easy to use, at least it's easier than redhat. you can also select wich windowing enviroment you want to use, I suggest you to choose KDE GNOME, they are most popular.

The best version of Linux, in terms of looking nice, is Mandrake. However, Red Hat (now Fedora) is generally the most stable. As for the best version of Linux, i would say Max OS X ;)

As for MAC os, well plenty of programs written for it work fine ;) i've got Quake 3 running quite happily on it, and it has Apache web server built in. Price, however, is another matter...

One of our teachers swears by Mac OS. Then when he wanted a small utility to do something, he could only find PC versions. How I laughed :)
