same here ellis i used ICQ for many years before changeing over to msn, did'nt like the way ICQ was moving forward

Ditto here.

It started out great, and then with each new version they added more stuff, so in the end you could never find the old stuff from all the new stuff. Even the lite versions are bloated.

if you want a small light app, you can also try Miranda. its pretty good, and has tons of plugins for almost every feature.
its a bit of work to config, but once you're done, its a really nice IM

Miranda is cool for USB Flash Hard Drives. I think. Is that the one without any installation?
