removing direct x

is there a util for removing directx completely for a fresh installation?


i'm hoping that this may sort out my CTD problems

there are direct X removal tools. Just have a look on google. SInce they are freeware you may use them at your own risk.

no, it completely deletes all dx files from your windows installation and registry - if it works right and does not screw it all up. You cannot start any dx stuff then of course.

you can run windows perfectly fine without DirectX (win98SE anyway) you just can't run any games or anything

All versions of Windows will work without DX except XP. Without it, things will go horribly wrong and you'll be looking rather silly.
