I worked out how it works now, the symbols change every time and whatever numbers that are actually possible to get using the method will have the same symbol. (try doing it a few times without clicking on the square)

It's cool the very first time, but then curiosity took over and I worked it out :P It's kinda like that David Copperfield email program where he takes away ur card...both very clever.
