Faking It is a programme by Channel 4, where they will have a member of the public faking his/her way through a job. And three specialists in that particular field have to guess between him/her and two other people from that field brought in as to which one is faking it and has been only training for this particular field for a month or so.
Previous highlights include:
1. A TV cameraman faking being a fashion photographer
2. A classical cellist faking it as a DJ
3. A telephone-answerer faking it as a TV director.
etc, etc.
So this guy last night is a computer-games tester, and he was faking being a racing driver. He had one month of physical and driving training (sometimes with Johnny Herbert), before being entered into a Formula Renault race at Rockingham. They all spotted him as the faker. The panel included ex-Lotus F1 driver Martin Donnelly, amongst others. The other two who were being judged had been racing for a few years.
