Problem with CarSet Creator4

I am trying to update Grid pictures using CSC4. I can import my TGA file but when I "Export" , nothing happens. I have the Beta4b version of CSC.
I did upgrade GP4 to version 9.6 which means I have to point CSC to an old decrypted version of GP4. Could this be a problem? Where are the grid pictures stored anyway?

Your files are write protected.
Go to the folder where the pictures are and change that....

that folder is (for the millionth and 3rd time) [gp4]\menudata\pc\gp2010\images\somewhereinhere
