Race Day - Part One

Welcome back to the ever sunny Monza circuit for The Italian Grand Prix. The cars line up with the Aston Martin's locking out the front row as they did at Dijon. Team boss Stuart Ingers will be hoping for a much better result this time around though.

And they are off, looks like Greenhalgh has got off to a sluggish start.

Warrington leads, but Jalving looks to have sneaked into 2nd.

Jalving brakes too late and barges into the back of Warrington.

Greenhalgh has to take avoiding action and runs off track.

The championship leader then has to wait while the whole field passes.

He finally rejoins the circuit in last place.

Meanwhile Jalving challenges for the lead.

Hinz makes a mistake at the 2nd chicane.

Greenhalgh tags on to the tail of Hinz at the end of the field.

Back at the front and Jalving still leads from Warrington.

Looking busy further down the field.

Jalving takes the fastest lap obviously as he is first over the line.

Standings at the end of lap 1.

Johnson locks up in 4th position.

Jalving takes the Acari chicane too fast and puts two wheels in the gravel.

Warrington gets by into the lead and Elleker closses right up.

Elleker goes for 2nd place.

Warrington takes fastest lap.

Greidanus has passed Johnson but locks up behind Jalving.

Elleker gets the pass done and takes 2nd.

Rodriguéz has been shuffled down the pack.

Hunsley flat spots his tyres.

Vilela attacks Pedersen for 8th.

Both go for a play in the sand pit.

Pedersen rejoins in 11th.

Greenhalgh tries the outside line on Hinz

He then collects the spun Vilela.

Warrington with the fastest lap again.

Somogyi runs wide at the Parabolica.

The Hungarian has managed to hang on to his ScalaGP, but has dropped down to 16th.

Greenhalgh in the pits for a new nosecone. Will Aston Martin alter his fuel and tyre strategy?

Warrington has pulled out quite a sizeable gap.

Hinz trying just a little too hard perhaps.

Greidanus gets onto the green stuff.

Then he gets onto the beige stuff.

Thats gotta make his eyes water! Greidanus is out of the race.

Stay tuned for part two.

Race Day - Part Two

Back to the action as Edwards passes Hinz.

Hunsley also gets onto the grass at the Parabolica as a Scala goes sand buggying.

Another retirement!

The recovering Silvestre smacks into the back of the stricken MAC.

Hunsley car is looking decidedly second hand.

Greenhalgh has to take avoiding action.

Warrington almost collects a marshall!

Christel will be hoping Elleker doesn't ruin his tyres.

Kittleson is flying, he's up to 6th position. His team mate has fallen behind Horváth however.

30 laps to go and here's the standings.

Greenhalgh takes 19th from Somogyi.

But he's 24 seconds off Vilela in 18th.

Cartwright becomes the next victim of the Parabolica.

He spins but at least his car is undamaged.

He rejoins in 13th but is soon passed by Karjalainen.

Cartwright fights back.

Karjalainen is knocked off track and has to wait for the field to pass.

Elleker 2nd, Jalving 3rd, Johnson 4th, Horváth 5th.

Karjalianen has another near miss.

Elleker seems to be pulling away from Jalving.

But he's only 1.5 seconds behind.

Hinz has made some serious progress, but flat spotting tyres won't help him hang on to what he's gained.

Thomas passes Edwards.

Johnson is now putting Jalving under pressure.

Thomas is not the first to have braking problems in this race, maybe he won't be the last.

25 laps to go.

Jalving gets the Ascari chicane wrong again.

And Johnson gets by him.

Jalving fights back, but Johnson holds him off.

Hinz attacks Sheppard and catches him napping (See what I did there ;))

Johnson is first to stop for fuel and tyres. He rejoins in 12th.

Vilela is quick to take advantage of Johnson heavier fuel load.

Part three coming soon.

Not a bad start so far for Christel. Hopefully Jack can challenge for the podium and Michael can move up through the field

Not that great of a race so far for us. Hopefully Rodrigo can fight his way back into the points and hopefully Carlos's car doesn't break down again..

A brilliant starty from me! Putting pressure on Warrington and pushing Greenhalgh into a mistake..

My 1st goal is taken; getting Greengalgh away from the front.. To bad I messed up, I pushed to hard and made some small mistakes.
My 2nd goal is getting onto the podium! Elleker and Johnson show good pace, but luckely they are not by biggest rivals for sure.

Race Day - Part Three

Edwards and Thomas are still fighting it out.

Both come a cropper though and rejoin the fight.

Pwetty TNR!

The leader is in the pits.

He exits in 2nd place.

Jalving is also pitting.

Comes out in 7th behind Johnson.

20 laps to go and we are part way through the first pitstops.

Horváth pits as we watch Edwards in his debut for Snake.

Horváth leaves the pitlane in 6th position.

Warrington puts his new tyres to good use and sets another fastest lap.

Sheppard pits from 2nd.

Returns to the action in 13th.

Jalving dives to the inside of Johnson.

Elleker is 20 seconds down on leader Warrington. Johnson fights back against Jalving.

He regains the position.

Vilela goes off track at the Lesmo's.

Jalving bodges an attepted pass on Johnson and gets held at the kerb for the field to pass.

Jalving now down in 13th.

15 laps to go.

This looks like it could get messy.

Maverick now 20th and lapped.

Sheppard right in the thick of it.

This could get messy too.

And it does!

Edwards too!

Jalving now 16th.

And Edwards 20th.

Don't go away, part four will be here shortly.

Race Day - Part Four

A cracking race for Hinz so far, now in 9th, but hang on the engine has cut!

He hits the barrier in frustration as he parks up.

Two AMR's on the straight, but seperated by nearly a lap.

Vilela and Cartwright have a coming together.

Warrington stops for a second time.

Emerges 2nd just behind Elleker.

10 laps to go.

Warrington just can't wait for Elleker to pit.

Maverick looks like he's lost control.

No damage to his car, but that puts the MPRs in 17th and 18th with just 9 laps remaining.

SCR vs Snake Part 2: Cartwright takes 10th from Karjalainen.

The Finn takes the position back again.

Elleker pits and rejoins the race still in 2nd.

Horváth 3rd.

Johnson 4th.

Rodriguéz 5th.

Aleksander has had a quiet race up til now. he dives to the inside of Kittleson.

The Slovenian grabs 6th from the Englishman.

5 laps to go

Karjalainen in the kitty litter.

Last lap.

Silvestre overtakes Greenhalgh for 9th.

Warrington wins the Italian Grand Prix!

Johnson hoping to pinch 3rd from Horváth.

Oh no! Horváth loses grip in the final corner!

Horváth returns to the track in 8th.

Silvestre is right on his tail though.

Elleker 2nd.

Johnson 3rd.

Rodriguéz 4th.

Kittleson 5th.

Aleksander 6th.

Cartwright 7th.

Silvestre in 8th just pips Horváth in 9th, with Greenhalgh 10th.

Rodríguez: "What was that? I saw something on the outside, was it a car?"
Van Renselaar: "Yes, yes, it was a TNR, it was Norbert, you are in 4th"
Rodríguez: "Woohoo! Finnally! What a race! Thank you boys, thank you very much! Woo!"

(Side note for Stu, the symbol in my surname goes above the I not the E. Just to point that out because in spanish it changes the pronunciation dramatically ;-) thanks)

What a race for the team, both into the points again :D
A few points in the bag....better than a poke in the eye with a burnt stick. :-)
