Perfect, I hate nerding around on wiki.

So there's no point in doing driver & team country flags ?.....just track venues ?

I'm not sure what you mean, In the Flag Pack #1, I mapped the flags and provided .gp4 files to import into your track, but as it's easy to map flags to a plane in builder using the mouse mapping feature, I'm not doing that with the rest of the packs. I'm just releasing the atx sequence.

You need to make a new object "Vertical Surface" apply the texture then position and scale the texture using the mouse mapping feature.

Added 1994, 1993, 1991, 1988, 1982.

The fastest way would be to import one single flag (.gp4) from Flag Pack #1 (as the mesh is the perfect size for a flag), then apply the texture of choice.
In GP4 builder click the "Move" button and enable "Mouse Mapping Feature", then simply drag the texture around with the mouse until your flag is displayed.
Don't forget the textures are flipped in game when converting the tga's to tex.

hey ramf1 :)

you work on the flags is great but what is about the moveable adverts?
i have more interest on that :)

cheers

Hello ramf1

Thank you for your work with the animated flags;)

The tutorial is good. I can hardly wait to try and build some animated helicopter blades.
I'm also very interested in animated crowds and scrolling advertisements.
I have been thinking for months now how to do this in the builder. The idea of using a clipping distance for a second advertisement in front of the original is now over.

Nicely done, very nice flags.

Thanks auscain. Glad the tutorial is of use, After Effects is the easiest way I've found to create the atx sequence.
I started off using Photoshop , I have the whole import/export process automated using actions, but it's very long winded, and you don't get a real time preview of the sequence.
After Effects seemed a better way to go, but Photoshop and Actions are what I use to build the tvanim texture, as this is a completely different setup being only one texture.

If your a 3Ds Max user you have even more control making the sequence, (I use this for Crowds/Trees etc.)
After building the scene you render out 10 frames over 3 seconds of animation, ie: every 10th frame from a 100 frame animation, It works well for engineer/tree/crowd animations and would be perfect for animated helicopter blades.(with a bit of motion blur applied).

I find the whole creation process tedious tho', so as far as the Animated Adverts go , I'll probably release a PS scene file and tutorial with actions.
I have no time to work on GP4 at the mo.

Alright then. I'll give it a go. Thanks again for sharing the knowledge. I do have Photoshop CS5 and was intending to follow your advice with the 30-day trial for After Effects. I will also be checking out the Actions tool. It just happens that GP4 helicopter with the camera is in a project I'm working on. The Builder is the only 3D tool that I use at the moment:-)
Just a small addition: GP4_flag_pole_01

I made some adjustments. The link is new.

@ramf1v
Today I did some in game testing of the track that I'm working on and your flags are included. They look fabulous and I want to thank you for thinking of it and allowing us to use them.
A very nice addition indeed. There is no noticeable difference to the processor occupancy also; in fact, it was only at 13%.
Thanks again:-)

Hello ramf1,

I need a little help to get the blades rotating correctly. Can you guess at the time and frames I should use? I have tried 10 blades and 2 blades and after 6 attempts I thought I would just ask. I have it set up for in-game testing with a 3d and a flat blade. The texture is on the blades in-game. No animation as yet. Also what name should I use, I'm unsure about the rules on what will be recognised and I don't want to displace your flags by using the same name.

Thanks for your help and the idea;)
