If I recall, you had a low-nose version of your car either last season or this - I presume that's what you're referring to?

In terms of that, I'd say that it shouldn't be an issue to have variations on the shape - but on a case by case basis, rather than creating a plethora of new shapes that people may not want to use. That way people can still use the templates already provided from the current shape (especially given a few teams already have their cars ready for rendering for next season) but have their own minor variations to promote individuality for each team if they so wished for it (so long as the shape edit doesn't royally screw with the design of the car).

I was actually thinking lately, since I haven't done any carshapes in ages, to write out a design contest. Let us members draw new carshapes and use that input to make a new carshape. Might be fun?

I'm still waiting for your updated test liveries of this season.

Dan, it would be a good idea for S10, maybe do a vote now, even along Maikel's idea. It's just too late for next season, as Dean pointed out a lot of teams already have their cars sorted, me included. Unless, you mean your low nose version of the current car, I would be quite happy to see it next year. Did you ever get it working?

I'd love to have several different carshapes being used. Though I think that mod-wise it's a bit easier to have one shape with different variations (e.g. different nose / sidepod / rearwing). If these all use the same template, teams also could easily change the shape.

@Maikel: great idea imo, I think this would be much fun :)

That'd be great Maikel.

I'd be keen to maintain a similar carshape for all the teams though.

I agree. Subtle variations of 1 base model with a generic template would possibly be the simplest way. I know that probably isn't as easily done as it sounds. I like the shape we currently run, but maybe the option of 2 car shapes could be reverted too, as long as they are not drastically different.

It would be nice to have this version of the shape we currently use as second choice for S10:

Yeah, I agree, I'd stick with the high-nose for MPR though.

No rush on this at all, but is there a list of tracks available that we the GPGSL are allowed to run, with no outside parties getting their knickers in a knot?

For me, on the season 9 calendar, I would welcome the return of a couple of tracks that have been used in the past, along with a couple of others that we haven't. A couple of fantasy tracks are well worth the prestige of being on the calendar, plus I can think of a rural UK track or two, that i would love to see us at (not including Silverstone!).
Among some that will get my vote : Dubai, Piranema, Donnington,....

I agree. We need a list of tracks that we can vote for, and tracks we can't vote for. That way we don't risk wasting a vote.

About the shape: I strongly agree. For me a good way to get it going would be 3 or 4 variations of the current shape (one can be the normal, then Dan's low nose version, and other two) and have the owners decide before the season. No changes would be able during the season so that Mod builders don't get a migraine ;-) and another subtle thing I'd like to see is variations in the rim style (BBS and OZ/Enkei), but only if we are to go back to the 3D rim. The coloured 2D rim we have is nice too.

I had a suggestion over an "aerodynamic boost" regarding each chassis' results throughout the season and extra perf for the teams who use the better placed ones but discarded it due to difficulty in perf calculations and some other stuff.

This is a great idea, maybe the list can go up on a poll site? Who's up for compiling a list?

I have a list saved from a few seasons ago, when i compiled all the votes. I will post that tonight when i get home...
Of course, new tracks won't be shown, but it will at least show a large choice of tracks. Others could then add the newer tracks to the list....

And, i am happy to compile all the votes, if needed. Happy to help in that small way....

I don't know how far Ruben has gotten with them, but I'm under the impression he's looking to create a couple of tracks for use in the GPGSL - I'll leave it to him to divulge any details if he's still going through with creating those circuits.

Seeing as I'm banned at GP4Forever over this dispute and that you need to now contact He-Who-Shall-not-Be-Named to get the latest tracks over there, I say all tracks are available, no matter who made them.

I also had the idea that every member should have a home race if possible.

Think I counted 14 nationalities on the most recent S8 list on Pg 1 - though (no disrespect to Andrei) if you can find a Tibetan GP circuit, good luck to you ;)

the closest you can get to a tibetan gp is a fictional track at Andrei's choice I guess ;)

Same goes for us - or rather me - poor Swiss driver(s). No Swiss track either, although I think we once had Dijon (in France) as Swiss track once.

But generally I'm not a fan of the idea that every driver needs a home track. I love to see the classic tracks in GPGSL and wouldn't wanna see Montreal or Sao Paulo disappear because we don't have a driver coming from there, or in return have buggy and/or unfinished tracks in the calendar only to have a home race for somebody.
