Frame Rate

hi does anyone have any ideas as to how i can increase the fame rate of my system below:

intel celeron 566mhz
320mb sdram
gefore2 mx400 64mb graphics
digifire 7.1 sound card
win xp pro

im getting about 20fps on low-medium detail, which is lame. also i am using vipers 2001 carset but i cannot enable reflections for some reason. is there any way that i can enable it in f1grahics.cfg? ive tried using paul boys grahics file but that is not good really. it stps and starts. plus i prefere to race without mirrors it makes it more interesting. i thought a dedicated sound card was meant to lighten the load on the cpu but it does not seem to have made much of a difference.

Turn down (or off!) your hardware acceleration for your soundcard (in the multimedia section of the control panel)

yes hardware acceleration is off.

I increased my Frame Rate and reduced PO by turning other car sounds off but as you dont use mirrors could prove a bit difficult.

just be thankful, i have a similar spec, only 1.5Ghz pentium 4, and windows ME (probly explains it) and im only getting about 12fps on fairly low detail, i have to say im quite ****** (irritated)

I've got 20-22 fps, po around 60%, on the startgrid a little above 100%

Circuits => no tribunes
Reflection => off
Mirrors => only cars
Cars => high detail

Euh, I'll upload my graphics.cfg file tomorrow, now I'm going to sleep, F1 tomorrow... 8)

How can a Celeron 566 and a P4 1.5 be of similar spec?
