if i make a track, or an update and i put the downloadlink for everyone in a forum, so i want to share it with the community.

First of all it isn't his forum, he is just mod in the forum. It's the forum of josekast like the 2011 mod you mentioned. So don't blame Jorge for things he isn't even involved in.

it makes me sad to read such a great discussion about a small link. Is it really so difficult to delete the link and respect Jorges request? we all know that Jorge is banned from gpg, but he still works on tracks for gp4 and he even still wants to share them with the community here. So what's the problem to say ok the link will be deleted and all is fine? it is not unsual that authors don't allow hotlinking their files on other sites. I've seen it so many times in other forums and it is respected without great discussions. I appreciate it, that Jorge still works on tracks for gp4 and i'm sure there are many other ppl here, who are very happy about updated tracks , so please calm down and think about it, if it's really worth it, to start discussions about a request from an author. Life is too short to make war for every trifle. Think about it

Although I'm all for respecting an authors wishes, a link to a page with a link to download the file is stretching it to mean KTC is posting a link here. But that's just me as English for my mother tongue

Permission is so overrated. Did you guys ask codemasters if you could use the cars of the F1 2011 game to convert them into gp4 ?????????? i don't think so, like said permission is so overrated.

There is a certain difference. The Codemasters conversions involve recreating something in a different format. You are correct - it is questionable. However copyright law for instance with written work means that if a piece is re-written it is different. What they are claiming you have done is to lift original work and "pass it off" as your own. That seems to be what the aggravation is about.
