directX 9

just installed directX 9 (was needed for a new game) then tried to play gp4 would not run asking for directX 8.1!!

tried again with the original disk worked!!! but wont work with the no cd patch?

latest patch version & cd crack!!
worked ok till i installed directX 9?

Using X-aser Lanfire case with 5 fans inside cathodelights etc included aswell :P

I will save you the search this time. The shortcut you use to start GP4 refers to autorun.exe. Autorun.exe, concerning Driectx, expects Dx 8.1 only, and this was not updated with the patch. But who needs the autorun.exe anyway?

Just delete your shortcut, and make a new one that refers to the decrypted exe. Problem fixed.
