how can you get sick with them if their great?
You don't need any editor as engine sounds are generated by the game from text files (in the sound folder).
So you just have to edit values in those files with a simple word editor.

actual samples are in BNK format which i've not been able to get into, tried Smack it or something without getting anywhere!! Hope dumass new software is up to the job.

Yep, some sounds are in bnk format, as i never get used to read wav files, i can't tell you how to read them...

ive looked at the game_sound.bnk file and ive made progress.
ive started to make up a table of the stuff and ive got a header bit ok. no code yet just give me a few hrs (u had to catch me at the busyest time didnt u :P)

i know know enough information to extract the files from the sound bank. but i dont have enough information to play them yet. just 5 more unknown values left

just like to point out that there not in bink (rad tools) format because that will be bik not bnk, bnk = bank (sound bank)

Yep, i saw it just after my latest post : /
ok, i can now extract the sounds and create wav files but i cant figure out the sample rate, bit rate. so atm its playing strange. u can hear the words the pit crew say but its like theres a million hear dryers going at once and hes shouting it.
