let's put it this way, same race, same car set, same grid position, same weather conditions

without the hud loaded , loading times is about 5 seconds

with it, 1.5 minutes :/

Elementary my dear Watson... err ipswich2007

6.3 MB additional load with 476 items... for game to load.. Will take time... (Timed at: 51 secs.. 2004 MOD, Austria 2003)

I almost thought game crashed and locked up my PC.. :-O

JAMH version has only the revs (RPM) images.. took 30 secs... to load..

Mind you.. great work...

For loading times: I used compressed texture to drop tga's wheigh but 460 tga are a little bit for some PC. So tomorrow i will release a font version of the hud which is already in my PC and have loading times very very very shorter than this version. People with loading time problem can use this new version similar to the tga version but without color change and not center alignement for speed lower than 100 km/h.

Stefano you have a monitor that gives the game in 16:9 so use that version and your problem will be solved. Just tested it to get the hud working in the csm mod and got the same view when i choose 4:3 on my 23 inch monitor with resolution in gp4 of 1980x1280, when i use the 16:9 version its all correct !

I have tested them all in a csm mod and the race control sign appears in the beginning of lap 2 and not in the beginning of lap 3 so there must be a value adjusted in the last ini i think :-) i had a quick look but didn't found it yet, you are the master so it will be easier for you to track it down héhé :-)

Hi Bigbrother

The race control sign appears in the beginning of the lap 2 and 3 and the DRS starts to work in the end of the lap 3 at the finish line . I don't know if this was your question but hope it helps .

Well i think it doesn't make much sense that its being showed at the beginning of lap 2 that DRS is enabled if you can only use it at the end of Lap 3, hope you understand me. It should popup after you cross the line to start lap 3 and not lap 2 in my opinion.

Since I'm facing the same problem, I know what it is. That's why I'm asking what system you are running because I'm suspecting certain specifications to have more troubles with it than others.

A little increase is absolutely normal but in my case it's around 30 times longer.

Very strange for the 2 ans 3 lap comunication for DRS. I tested it several times in quick race and it works correctly every time! I will have a look in next hours. Basically you have to modify in ini (2,3,4,5) the filters values. Here you cn find the values of the lap in which that panels shoud work. Let me check later ;)
Fot the loading times i'm sorry it is tga's dependant... :(

NEW FONT VERSION AVAILABLE ON FIRST PAGE (for PC with big loading time problems)


I checked for the DRS Race control comunication and it is correctly configured. I made several race (10 laps) and DRS enabled comunication was correctly showed at 3rd lap. You can check this in hud_2011_5.ini where in filters option this message is configured to be showed "Not from 0lap to 2lap" and "Not from 4lap to 99lap" and only from 20 to 27 seconds of the lap (so in 3rd lap starting from sec 20 to sec 27).
Are you loading the hud with the correct sequences of ini? (hud_2011_1 for first and hud_2011_5 for last)?

Hi Bigbrother I have an 17 inch 4:3 monitor and I play with 1024x768 resolution, when I use the hud 16/9 version, the throttle and brake are in right position, but this is the result

Hi mate, very strange case. What i suggest is to load the 4:3 version and change your self the Y values of brake and throttle from the edit option of hud_2011_1.ini


I'm sorry but i couln't help you because this problem is reproducible in my PC :(
You have only to decrease Y values of the 4 elements I marked in image ;)

Well i do have two problems i think, the first is the same like Steve has: DRS enabled on second round.
Second one: I'm not rly sure, but doesn't need the whole panel to be more wide and round? Or is it just me?

Have a look at the screen

edit: oops to late, for the second problem I'll try to change the values too ;)

btw.: just an idea why drs enabled in second round: I'm not using the original trackorder, so for example the number of rounds might be different. Could this have something to do with it?
