Laurent, I found a bug with the track cams. When you change the sector number at "view car to sector", the new sector number is not being updated in the column "To" in the left panel with the camera overview.

Some tiny bugs: The word "additional" is spelled as "additionnal" in the GP4 info extended data overview and the confirmation (Oui non) is still in French when you import track cams or cc-line with a different dat name.

I'm a total dick. How many people can say that?

@Turbo Lover : If these are the only bugs, I will be happy :)
Thanks for the report, they are fixed for next revision.

I get this message a lot just when I want to add some sectors:

Hi Lo2k,

I am really into 3D modelling and use Cinema4D on a regular basis and would
like to start making some tracks using your wonderful program.

My question is, is there a tutorial anywhere that I can read. I keep getting told
to just use the program and get used to it's features but it is a very comprehensive
piece of designing equipment and for someone how has no clue what he is doing
(like myself) it can be very daunting.

I was hoping there is something like a step by step tutorial that helps you to
make a track from scratch.

If there isn't I really hope you consider making one because the more track
makers there are in the community the better.

What I was think would be possible is that you (or someone who has experience
in the program) start a series of tutorial. You could bring out one every week or
every month that takes you through the steps to making a track. For example,
the first tutorial could be about laying track, then next month you make a tutorial
about creating cc line and so on all the way through to making buildings and adding
textures and applying finishing touches.

I hope you consider this as it would be a great asset to the community.

Thank.

Hey Macca25,

Good to see someone wants to get in the wonderful world of track editing ;)

There is the "Ultimate Guide to Track Editing" by Zeppelin101, at RealGPx.com (Guides section) which is good but outdated, a lot of things got easier due to advancements in GP4Builder; and also a small guide at GP4Builder User Guide itself.

I started to do some tutorials a long time ago at F1Virtual - very small and direct to the point, which cover very specific tasks (there is one for cc-line). But as there wasn't much feedback about them, they were forgotten.

But if there's interest, I could start making them again covering since the most basic tasks, and if someone followed the tutorials, even better because specific questions would arise.

That sounds great mate, it would be helpful to have someone to turn to for questions.

It's up and running for me....
If you live in a south america country, there was some troubles in the past due to some ISP blocking access to french/european sites for an unknown reason. I hope they are not doing it again.

Thanks LO2K!!! Problem solved!
I have one new issue though....
GP4Builder doesn't work for me. When I launch the application the "choose a gp4 file" window appears. However, I can't find my GP4 file in my GP4 folder, even though it is properly installed and working. Any ideas?
Many thanks!

GP4Builder doesn't ask for the GP4.exe main file but for a .gp4 file which are files storing game 3D content.

Got it...Thank you very much...
One final question...How do I change the lap number for each track?

open the track dat and doubleclick on tracksectors. In the right corner near the bottom, you can add the laps then. Save the dat and that's all

In between, select initial sector and click on the Show GP4 Inofs extended data button
