I can work also on the cc-line. Making the track cams and magic data would be nice also.

fantastic track!

heres an example of what amount of work goes into a dat file...the section here albeit around a complicated turn
took me the best part of three hours to do.it's hard work to follow a section of rail as a few fellow track makers
will appreciate from their past efforts.i'll try & post here with progress as it goes..
on a different note....does anyone want to be in the crowds in this track ? if yes..send me a standing photo of good quality of a single person or a group of people in a straight line.

Indeed one of the least fun parts to do in a .dat file, since the early days :)

Just keep up the pace and you'll be fine.

hehe it was a bad joke! But I would like to make some trackcams if you let me. :)

I can also wait until the track is released if you don't want to send the .dat to more than one person :)

thanks paolo
it soon came back to me why i had become to dislike making dat files over the years, talk about slow tedious work :(
head down & push on is the only way with this work sadly......hard to keep motivation though.....

anyway, more progress..i'm thinking this is my best dat file since zhuhai :-)

this could make a nice winter test track or alternative spanish gp ?

Hmm, I wonder how much time was needed to make this second part but it sounds painful so I was wondering if you were aware of 2 GP4builder specific features for this job :

- Bridge fences (from the modify sectors window) : this creates straight fences between 2 sectors bank edge vertices whatever the track layout (like the one you build on top of 2 corners). It's also a good tool to quicky give a raw shape to banks by only placing a few key sectors banks position and bridging them. Then you can refine them precisely with
- Direct bank edge manipulation : you can directly pick a sector bank edge vertex with mouse and hit F6 (move) to displace it just like a .gp4 vertex. It's again not very precise but it helps tuning things without dealing with distance/angle values for each and every sectors. You can also use this to quickly place key points for bridging.

I hope this could help but that's just my 2 cents anyway

nope....i hadn't kept up with gp4 builders progress......thanks for the pointer....the amount of time it took to add the updated rails/banks in previous screenie i did this with your suggested new feature

really takes a lot of pain from the dat file building...if your wip feature that computes dat sectors from .3ds comes to reality this would make it a hell of a lot easier for the creation
of this type of track......

thanks ruben

if' i'd kept up to date with gp4 builder & it's new features i would probadly have finished the dat file already ;)
it speeds up the work for sure . for the time i spent yesterday building that last section with the old fashioned value input for rails/banks/height etc i'd be near completed today i think ....anyway......progress has gone well still have a bit to do then refine the rails in places...

i think you'll probadly be getting this track sooner rather than later to do your work on....

I didn't know that, and looking at the changelog it's been around for a year :-o

(Though we've been warned when it happened, in bold)

@rubens

i've sent a rough beta to your pm so you can work on the cc line /cams etc....
it's dog rough tbh but the data won't be getting any major changes so your work can start.......thanks.....
