2001 Mod - Onboard cams - Widescreen format - RELEASED !

Hi everyone !

Last Monday, I downloaded all I could get from the forecoming 2001 mod, and then it was time to set my tcam coordinates. But as many know, it's hard to recreate the perfect position with Team Editor when you have a widescreen monitor ! I'm not sure whether I'll convert the 16:9 values to 4:3 though. Maybe I will, I'll see what I can do

So, I remembered what I did for the gamers.nl 2004 mod, and told myself "Hey ! Why wouldn't I do the same thing with the 2001 mod ?!?!?" So I started with some basic settings, as real as possible to the top of my head.

Here are the first WIP screens (no McLaren, as I'm waiting for the car before making anything )

So, generally, I need to take the cameras lower and more forward. That will be hard, but the camera projection settings should help a lot. Also, I shouldn't "copy" the real positions because that would tighten the FOV ahead of the car. So that will be a matter of compromises

More progress will be shown during the day, I'm off to bed, and then from Saturday morning to Sunday evening I'll be away for Easter

There is no actual mod right now, but some people are making some progress with it

If this is of any help, I just took these two shots with both widescreen and 4:3 aspect ratios, but vertical resolution is the same (1920x1080 and 1440x1080). You can see that the widescreen shot cuts off the top and bottom of the image, while the center is the same in both.

Made some more progress once I was back from my break I think I can now consider all those settings as final (Except the Minardi and McLaren for obvious reasons)







The main aim was to recreate as accurately as possible the real onboard views, but I had some lens restrictions. So, while not being all perfect, they all satisfy me I'll try to sort out how to upload on GPG and then everything will be available
