Depending on my time I'll be more than glad to help, however the next 3 weeks are really busy.

On a general note: What about Matt Houston now? I received the perf file from Stu BEFORE the activity check, but couldn't check it yet. Actually I think that it would be easier for all participants if Matt just remained in the cockpit for the last race, so that we can get the round done as soon as possible when I check the perfs now. But of course this would be bending the rules and could only be done if NOBODY disagrees.

Probably the best idea in all honesty. It's only one race afterall.

Yeah, Matt Houston s.ucked this season anyway. :p

My Grand Prix 4 Files

I'm a total dick. How many people can say that?
Yeh for one race its probably easier to just leave matt in his seat. Wont really matter for one race. If he is left in his seat will he still get a penalty?

It's up to you guys what happens about Matt

If people are not bothered it'd be easier to just keep him in the seat for Silverstone

I suppose this dooms us to 6th then :(

Races: 163 - Wins: 23 - Pole Positions: 24 - Fastest Laps: 22
Season 9: Constructors' Champions
oensan Owen Edwards
Looking forward to a much better performance than that miserable effort in Brazil. Got to finish the season strong at home.

Unless I'm very much mistaken... I am very much mistaken!
Guys I was thinking, could an exception be made regarding the teamboss rules

Would it be possible to let me race in Silverstone in place of Matt, as he is banned

Well, he's not banned yet but only demoted to test driver.

But I see your point. Totally following the rules would mean that either you, Paolo or Matt couldn't drive at all in Silverstone because there'd be 3 drivers and only 2 testdriver seats. Additionally you'd have to organize another race driver.

Seeing all the chaos-potential in this, I support the idea of letting Dan drive the last race and demote Matt in the test seat, or alternatively still let Matt stay in the seat for this last race, but give him the 20 points perf reduction.

apart from that I wouldn't be interested into racing against my team, which fights for 6th place;)

I'd prefer letting Dan drive for the last race.

Edwards granted permission as a free agent for Silverstone

TNRacing's Owen Edwards has been given the green light for a bazillion chance prospective seat opening at Silverstone. TN Staff were reportedly spotted sniffing not just the unguarded panty caravan of Matt Houston; but also the MPR Executive Offices in the pitlane.

^ Problem solved. Owen and Charrel in the MPR's for the final race?

Honestly - I'm against letting Matt race the final race. The activity checks (and the rules, for that matter) are there for a reason. After this race, we've got plenty of time to sort everything out for next season (possibly even a Christmas race, seeing as how it's getting around to that part of the year).

We start bending the rules just because it's the last race, and we open up a whole can of worms in terms of people trying to wriggle out of their inactivity penalties (one person comes to mind in regards to trying to pull that this year...).

Sorry to be a stickler, but rules are rules. :)

Well, you're not the one anymore who has to adapt these changes in the perf file ;) Just kidding. I see your point, of course, and that's why I asked earlier on if somebody has a problem with Matt keeping the cockpit for this one race.

Fair enough - sorry to make work for you, but that's bound to happen if activity checks are in place. ;)

And before I forget, I've had a thought in regards to a series add-on (in terms of competition) - a little mini-tournament based on constructor's points for specific rounds.

Here's how it would work:

First race: Preliminary round. 10th and 11th from the previous season take part in this. The team with the highest points total goes through (if points are equal, the team with the highest placed driver will go through).

With 10 teams, the tournament is then split into two groups of 5:

Group A: 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th from previous season

Group B: 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th from previous season and the winner of the preliminary round.

Over the course of the next 10 races, the teams compete in a double round robin tournament (3 pts win, 1 pt draw, 0 pts defeat) - with the top four teams from each group going through to the quarter finals.

Round 12 and Round 13 are the Quarter Finals - which takes place as a two-legged tie.

Round 14 and Round 15 are the Semis - and like the QFs it's a two legged tie.

Round 16 is the 3rd place play-off - 3rd and 4th place in the Alternative tournament.

Round 17 is the final - winner of that wins the tournament (obviously).

Now, feel free to knock in with your opinion about this - I'm off to see how this season would've played out :)

Being the type of person that i am, i rather like the idea.
Out of interest which drivers would participate? I'm assuming its based off the race result, so it would only be the race drivers, but testers could always been included?

And feel free to let me know how it turns out ;-)

Sounds like a fun idea :) It would work completely seperately to the main series, but use the same results :)

I bet Aston wouldn't have it as easy ;)

5 x WCC - S5, S6, S7, S8, S10 | 4 x WDC - S5 Nick van der Voort ; S6, S7, S8 Ed Greenhalgh | 2 x WTC - S6 Stuart Ingers; S8 Andrei Sevastian
Btw, Alpha is still looking for a driver for next year. PM me if you are interested.
