I edited the cockpit layout to give a Touring Car/GT car cockpit, and found that altho it worked in GP4, i cudnt texture it no matter what. This is a picture of the problem (thanks to vader for picture hsoting again)

Any Ideas editing ppl? (or even non-editing ppl!!) I have checked the texture paths and stuff

this sounds like exactly same problem I was having - getting new textures on new objects to appear in GP4. All looks good in Z but no texture in GP4.. obviously possible as Viper and other top guys have done it.

at a guess, i would say, that because 1 object holds several textures (i.e for every team, like the helmet shape, and it becoming un textured) i think its the same here, what im saying is that, the texture a cockpit shape uses isnt defined in the shape, its in the exe (eg, car1, for schumacher, as an example, i know thats not correct) so what you need to do, is texture map it to those files some how, i guess that is the problem, i couldnt tell you an answer unfortunatly

Think the same like andrew.

Cockpits, helmets etc are file that uses different textures for each team or driver. So search for a primary path in the *.gp4 file with a hex editor. If you cant find anything its stored to another file - bad way = GP4.exe

So try to use gp4 default textures for mapping.

chaing a cockpit shape and re-exporting removes the mapping anyway

Tex was named correctly
they were downsampled
they are in the cars.wad
they are linked in ZM
GP4 is stupid and wont work
