Crashing to desktop on new PC - Solved (calibrate f1graphics)

Hi guys, got a new PC running Windows 7 64 Bit on a Quad Core but it seems to crash on all circuits (interminantly).
Have played around with the number of CPU, debug etc but no matter what it crashes (Using CSM - but it seems fien on my trusty Win XP PC)

Hmmm, interesting. First can you run GP4 without gpx and csm? In other words, an un-modded vanilla installation. Please set the compatibility of gp4.exe to XP SP2 first. Get back to us with result of the above test please.

Hi Mortal,

Done that too - should have noted it in my original post. (Compatibility)
Haven't checked the un-modded version as yet, but it is such a random problem it is hard to diagnoise.
If I leave the game by itself (run in director mode) it seems unbreakable - weird but true.

Checking the un-modded version will define whether or not there is a problem with the mod. It is a process of elimination of course. Eliminate gp4 as the root cause first, then you can try to nail down the problem within the mod, or the track. There are multiple problems showing up in the log of course. First run a clean gp4, then if it crashes, load it with gpx and post that log. Then the logs can be compared. If it does not crash, then the mod must be looked at. You have an exit code 255, that is not common, at least not something I've noticed before, and I don't claim to be an expert by any means. From memory, I think it means the comp was unable to set priority to process the next function, then an exit. Anyway, as I said, you need to test a clean installation first, on an original track.

The new MODs, tracks, cars, helmets, textures, banners, etc...etc...etc...to the GP4 are "foreign elements" to the game.

They had to be reconciled to the game.

The biggest problem are the tracks and cars, but mainly on the tracks.

The programs ZAZ Tools, GpxPatch, Gp4Magic, GpaMaster and other alternatives are to make the game accept the new changes.

The clues, the bigger problem because the shape and construction of them quite complex and detailed, so these errors happen more frequently! It's part!

This is mainly on new tracks.

Note that the original tracks is rare to happen this problem.
Why?? Them contains files and codes that have not yet been deciphered or matched.

In GpxPatch 3.93, set it always on START GPX DEBUG MODE, The option 0 and Details Medium.
This minimizes but does not end the problem.

Other important details: whenever you change the mod using the CSM recalibrate Graphs.

And whenever you exit the game, NEVER hit ESC first, before you press the PAUSE key, then yes, the ESC key, it also minimizes.

Track-Packs 1988-1991-1993-1994-1995-1997-1999

@ plodekk - I recalibrated the f1graphics file and it now not missing a beat and have been testing it extensively without a CTD - cheers mate.
