Hello people :)

It's been a while since I've done anything here but I couldn't resist have a go with the new Ferrari. At the moment the shape is the F10 but I will be looking for someone to help adjust it. Finished the front of the car with all new logos and changed the shade of red to be accurate. This is an early WIP so alot will change.

Many Thanks,
Iain.

The guys at GP4-argentina are altering the shape to be an interim car, and Mitsuro Sano will make the brand-new F150, he told me. :-)

I've started a WIP, I hope that I make a lot of progress quickly so that it does not side track me from other projects, so we'll see how far we get with this one :)

Raul, you're always welcome to be my mate ;)

Jucksman - any way in particular that you can help?

I don't normally show WIP shots, because I get sick of people asking for release dates - but in this case, I want to get it finished as soon as possible. It means that I'll probably not optimise my use of polys on this car as I normally would. However feedback is welcome :)

Great start Fongu! Nice curve on the nosecone and nice front wings, too.
Just the vertical nose pillars should be larger ( but I know, it is WIP)

If I can help with the textures (logos) or lower lods, just ask ;-)

Thanks guys :)

I've been playing with the scaling of the nose and the pillars, I think I've made them too small for the front wing, so I'll adjust that again later.

As I have so many offers for help for which I'm glad, what I may consider is making the car open source after shaping. Maybe someone is better at mapping than me can do it? If not I will, takes me maybe 4 hours. Then maybe someone can finish off the details of getting it in game, lower lods and of course textures, which frees me up for other things. If you all pm me when you've done your bit, I'll update the packs on my workthread. It would be nice for what's left of the community to pull together rather than having to put up with rehashes of 2010 conversion updated. Let me know what you think.

Raul, can you pm me my log in details for your site, I've forgotten them :(

I'll stop work on this one then and wait for your shape to be completed. I am more than happy to do the textures and continue updating for each race as I did with mpad's F10.

Cheers,
Iain.

What do we think?

Changes: Colour of car, new logos on nose, new Ferrari logos (mapping for main logo is EVIL), TATA logo on rear wing, acer logo moved on sidepod, new body work next to acer logo, three logos (brembo etc) moved up and Fiat logo moved.

:)

Thanks,
Iain.

You are really flying Ian! Looks already very good :) !

Looks very good, madotter! It seems almost ready for a release. You can find the New numbers in the formula 1 2011 thread here in the site. :-)
That's really amazing. Appreciate your effort a lot!
Just got them :)

I have a confession. I wanted to see of anyone could tell what I did from the last picture? The shape hasn't changed, I just photoshoped the F-Duct and Sharkfin off :-p I just wanted everyone to see the textures without getting 101 people saying "oh the shape is wrong" and I was curious to see if anyone spotted it.

I might release the textures but as I said before, I am going to offer my help to fongu to get a real F150 released.

All the best,
Iain.
Here's the real deal :)

Cheers,
Iain.
