Upgraded Graphics Card

I just upgraded my graphics card from a TNT Ultra 2 to a Geforce Ti4200 and have installed the latest Nvidia drivers. Problem is the game runs worse than before!

My system is a 1200 Athlon with an Asus A7V board and 256mb of RAM
Anyone else have a problem like this?

Thanks

Chris

Uninstall the driver, reset to standard pci graphics adapter. Re-install and test with earlier driver version. Try 21-* and 29-* Use only WHQL certified ;-) The latest nvidia drivers causes my system to hang on load-up ;-/

I've got Geforce Ti4200 128mb, and the game runs fine with 4072 drivers

I noticed the Asus A7V. I have the exact same board.

There are some things you need to know about the Via chipset. Windows performs poorly with the Via chipset default drivers. Especially the AGP handling is pretty @#$%&, but other areas are also affected.

I am pretty certain that the faster your GFX card is, and hence faster and larger AGP transfers, the more your performance will be hampered by this. I also first noticed real problems when I exchanged my TNT2 Ultra with a GF2 GTS.

You can solve the problems by downloading the Via 4-in-1 drivers package, as it installs a driver with a different routine for handling AGP transfers.

Here's a download link

Yeah it seems we have similiar system specs. I think I downloaded the latest drivers but will download again. So many drivers to install!

Thanks
