So now I'm a bit confused, call it old age maybe the read me says "Install to main gp4 directory,make sure theres a fresh installation with 9.6 update and gpx patch is installed" I do that and no luck, the game will not load the track and closes,
quickslick says "you have to extract the cars wad, then rename the lods and the cp_tex files of the cars to the original ones. After this recompile the cars wad and all should be ok" so yes or no to this? and yes it seems a bit strange for an exe. Looks like the read me could do with an update just to help a bit more.

ok. install gp4, install the 9.6 update, install gpx patch, then copy all the world series files over to the gp4 directory and overwrite any existing files, theres absolutely no need to open the wad and rename any files, everything you need is already there. dont forget to point gpx patch to the exe and the performance and physics files.
