Alpha Motorsport S5 AnnouncementThe Name:After Ed Greenhalgh sold Alpha Motorsport to Stefan van Renselaar the name changed to the mysterious "ART", we can now tell you what the full name will be. Alpha Racing Team it will be for now.
The Team:After Stefan van Renselaar took over the managing position of Alpha there was just 1 race driver ans 1 test driver to drive the 4 cars. Van Renselaar wasn't going to drive a test car, so we had to sing 1 race driver and 1 test driver. The race driver we singed is Charrel Jalving from The Netherlands, a very experienced race driver who has been racing since season 2 of the GPGSL. The test driver we singed is Juliano Muller from Brazil, a new driver to the GPGSL.
The Engine:Ford has been supplying Alpha for several seasons and there was no reason to end our relationship with Ford. Van Renselaar stated: "Our Ford engines have been very reliable and they have promised us that it will stay that way, so we singed another contract for season 5, with an option to continue with Ford for even more seasons."
The Drivers:Alexandre Koemmerer, first race driver, from France: "New season, new boss and new challenges; this season will be my first as a full-time race driver and I hope both Charrel and me to fight in the top 10."
Charrel Jalving, second race driver, from The Netherlands: "I am really looking forward to Season 5! ART is one of the most professional teams in the Motorsports. They try to join the Formula 1 and they have great success in the GP2 also. In the GPG SL, ART will make name this season. The base of the car is fantastic and since the team changed to ART, I could even see the staff is more motivated. The season 5 car looks fast, the livery is awesome! I can’t wait to step into the car and give it a go!"
Jack Elleker, first test driver, from Great Britain. Jack didn't make any comments about, he just said that he is bad with comments.
Juliano Muller, second test driver, from Brazil. The Brazilian is very anxious to begin working with the 2010 model. "The new car seems very fast. I've seen it at the factory when I went for my seat fitting, and it's a beauty. The car isn't even ready yet and already it LOOKS fast.
My goal is to work very hard this season and help the team develop this car and hopefully fight for victories this season."
The Sponsors:Alitalia: The only new sponsor, Alitalia contacted us about a possibility of sponsoring us and after Emirates didn't want to sponsor us for another season.
Castrol, Boeing, Bridgestone, Fujitsu and Magneti Marelli are 5 sponsors who have been with us for at least 1 season. The technical sponsors stayed with us because we all know about their products and we are very happy with how they work.
The Livery:Thanks to Alex for painting this beauty!
