gp4 crashes when starting race

Hello people!

When I want to start any race in GP4 it crashes while loading!

My System:
Athlon XP 2100+
Geforce4 Ti4400
256 DDR Ram
Windows XP professional

What is the problem?

ok, wot driver u using for ur ti 4400? also, do u have any probs with any other games? and are u using dx 8.1?

I use DirectX 8.1 and the Detonator XP 30.82...
I don't have any problems with other games, but a friend has the same problem...

Are you running gp4 with gpx_patch 3.10, if not do so, download from this site. Set to run in debug mode, set verbosity to high, on any forced exit gpx_patch will generate a log file. It's a well documented fact on this forum that xp users experience difficulties one way or the other with gp4 ;-/ Keep at it though, it is possible to get it up and running as many xp users will tell you.

I have no trouble with XP apart from trying to race at Spa giving me a PO of 400%. Otherwise, it's great!

try installing the DirectX version from the GP4 CD, it cured the crashing on Win98 for me, in Win Xp its fine though

same problem... fixed ages ago...

1s try puttin you grapic acceleration (contol panel/display/advance/trouble shooting) ryte on where u disable directX applications then start gp4.exe

it shud no work! try pressin ecape which eventually goes back to yur desktop

go back again and put the bar one higher and start gp4.exe.... this time it shud work.

it worked for me
