Race info "BIG" fps Hit!

When it says on the screen, so & so is out of the race or in the pits etc, its like I've put my foot half on the brake and every thing goes slow mo.

Can this info be turned off.
Is this the TV overlay?
it's turned off in the menu.

Use GPxPatch and it will replace those "sky messages" by TV-style messages that will not affect FPS.

I dont know for sure, but does the background colour of the sky message have some transparency in?

ATL in GPxPatch also has transparency in its background but doesn't affect P.O. Maybe the sky messages have some kind of filtering or some form of anti-aliasing that causes the slowdown.

Let's face it, whatever it is, it's a load of bollocks,so let's all hope that the patch sorts it out!!
