[Fixed] When the lights turn green....engine goes to idle

Posted by noncon
I'm at the start line, engine revs screaming until the lights turn green.

Then bam, the car drops to idle...everyone flys past me. I don't get full revs again until perhaps 5 seconds after lights turn green.

I've tried multiple tracks. Driving aids on/off, same problem. No rev problems during testing, only at race start.

Anyone?

didn't you get a penalty for a false start ???

If you're using launch control, you have to press and hold the upshift gear, and keep your foot on the gas. The car will rev to a certain point, no higher.

When the lights go out, release the gear and away you go.

You have to hold the upshift gear, even if you do a manual start.

Hold the gear down, rev to the amount you want, then release the gear when the lights go out.

Thanks for responding.

Interesting, I've never heard of this method in GP4. I tried it anyway, but same thing. Right before lights turn green, it bogs down, for those couple seconds, the throttle does nothing. This is with Windows 7 64.

I have to hold the brakes while at starting line until the lights go green. Otherwise the car creeps ever so slightly, but I don't get a false start penalty. I guess that is realistic, but never seen it do this before even as far back as when I played it on Win98. Before you could just stand on the gas, when lights turned, it would just go. I guess it could have something to do with my new Logitech wheel maybe the commands are sent differently than with my old wheel.

Thanks
