GP4 running in 1920x1024 resolution!

hi everyone,
i have gp4 and i just installed it and downloaded sone of the mods ,but i found that the graphics are very stretched as i have widescreen 24in lcd monitor. the highest the game gos in res is 1200x1024 .Is there a way of changing the res to 1920x1024 because this res is my standard res and if i can get the res to run in the game it will bring the game into normal portions

any ideas

Go to your GP4 Folder and locate the f1graphics.cfg, open this file with notepad or similiar program and you should be able to manually edit the width and height. Inside the game it will say 640x480 but in fact it will be the size you gave it

THe game settings will say it's 640x480 though. Don't change anything, that's how it's supposed to be

well, I can run it in 1600x900. But it's like Briere said, in the menu it's 640x480, but when you then start to play you will get the resolution you choosed

I have 1920x1080 resolution and it works perfectly with gp4.

I tried to modify the resolution for the 1995 mod also on 1920 x 1080, but when I changed the width of the resolution in the f1graphics.cfg. When I tried to run the mod the failure appears that the resolution has to be at least 800 x 600 for operating the simulation. Does anybody know how to help?

Don't run in a window (use 0) but force f1graphics file to controll all settings (first line to 1) instead and DON'T enter the ingame graphics page after that !

Thank You for Your advice, the resolution works in aproper way, but the textures disappeard and I have the "classic" problem of the "white cars", which other modifications do I have to take?

Well i dont why i cannot get 1920x1080 to run on gp4 ! i did what was in the f1graphics file in notepad .but it still run in 640 res .i dont understand it .. If i set the res in the game options at 1600 it goes back to 640 res. If i set the Horizontal Resolution to 1920 and the Vertical Resolution at 1080 theres no change in the game what so ever. i even let the setting in the graphics ingame to 640 and thats all it runs at.


I have 4870 ati 1gb videocard

Edit the most top line of the f1graphics.cfg file
'0 ; f1graphics.cfg controls all settings (default 0)'
Set it to 1, see if that helps

maybe you have to delete the f1graphics.bak from your gp4 main folder and install a driver for you widescreen monitor, this could solve the problem
