It can't be much worse; can it? ;)

GP4 is not on it lasts breath yet, yes; it can't handle 14 teams - but it is still a very good game and looking very good for it's age, and even if Codemasters F1 will be good, GP4 will still be played, because we all care about the game, we have a nice offline leagues for it and tons of mods which keeps it fun to play!

If you are racing, keep on racing and get some points!

Codemasters surely has the best Racing Game Engine at date but will they be able to create a true simulation (something they never did so far as far as I remind) is another question. Looking at game market and their recent line ups (Race Driver GRID, DiRT 2), I doubt it will be more than a great looking arcadish game with some physics but only 3 laps races.

i shall remain locked to gp4 for pc racing mainly to experience and commend the awesome job of the modders who keep it up to date year after year, and also because nothing else comes close frankly. (unless GP5 comes along.....not likely)

GP4 is hardly beatable, only needs a few more tweaks here and there, but overall, is the best with huge difference.

In fact, one of these days I was running in Indianapolis, from 2nd place of the grid, got 1st in the first turn with Schumacher (2006 season) just behind me and he has been behind not farest than 2 seconds and not closer than 0.5 for 50 laps, matching the pace with quite realistic times (decreasing over and over as we are getting lighter on each stint)!!! I think this is very difficult/impossible to achieve for what I could see in some youtube videos of codemasters game.

And anyway, yet remain to be seen how many teams will be in the grid next year... Campos seems to be quite advanced but the others? Sauber??? Toyota? even Renault??

I left GP4 for GTR 2 this summer. I'm not fixated on Formula One only, so this is the best alternative for me. Also, the F1 mods aren't bad ones, and you can play as almost everey racing vehicle with four wheels (with mods, of course). Anyway, i still read this forum, maybe an update to the 1994 F1 mod will get me to play some GP4 again :D
