gpxpatch 3.03

just wondering how do u get it to work with gp4.

i installed it to my gp4 directory but get the error message,



Could not detect gpx version
Make sure to select the correct executable in the "Gpxpatch" Tab
and to launch gpxpatch from the main gpx directory


Not sure what im doing wrong, i try to do as it says and select the correct executable but i am only offered with the options of

gp3.exe
gp32000.exe
gp3v.exe

there is no gp4.exe

do i have to install an encrypted gp4.exe or something to allow gpxpatch register a diferent .exe ?

any help would be much apperciated.

plus sorry if this as come up before but im so drunk tonight i really couldnt be bothered to search.. sorry i know i know ppl will get stressed when people dont search but im just lazy

one other thing i take it gpxpatch only has limited functioning in gp4?

ie. its too much to wish that gpxsat would work lol

just type in gp4.exe

i did and it still says

"Not a valild gpx executable"

Sounds like you might have applied the patch.....you know, the patch, you apply it and it helps you quit playing GP4!

It needs to be the NO-CD patch / decrypted patch. Ahh too confusing now :p

No Charlie it has to be the decrypetd exe for the original.
It if picked up the decrypted exe for the patch it wont work with gpxpatch as it is now

actiually i installed the patch and had a better peformance with gp4. strange.

is there anyway to "undo" the patch lol or is it best just to unistalland reinstall?

No way to undo. So you must go me more forceful way

If the patch makes u get better performance then keep it. GPxpatch does nothing of use at the moment in GP4 (no disrespect to R Smits). It's not worth the hassle (unless you want to skip the intro).

I have found that the patched (4.0) & decrypted exe feels noticeably better on my install so I'm keeping it patched instead of using gpx patch.

So far I've had one crash to the desktop during qualifying session when I was about to take pole which was annoying. (save session 1/2 way through is 1/2 a plan!) The accelerated time hang is still there, otherwise no problems.

Re the Gpx sat I had some communication with SDI & basically it's down to whether Gpx patch's graphical routines can be implemented in GP4 - they haven't done it yet but if they do then sat will probably be implemented.
