Slimtex error. Sample tga uploaded, check for errors please.

Posted by Reynaldo28
Hey guys,
I'm currently making my own F1 team, and have designed the car, but when I go to open the .tga with slimtex, I get an error message saying "Error Loading Picture" and if I try to open up a .tex file, I get the error message "Error 9 "subscript out of range" raised in procedure FlipImage of modGraphicsDisplay" anyone know a fix to these problems, I'm on Vista if that makes a difference.

Thanks in advance
Will

Is the tga the correct size? I'd be looking at that first.

I couldn't tell you that offhand, what with me being a total GP4 n00b and all. Tell you what...check the size (image dimensions) of a file that you know is good. Then check yours. :-)

There is no way I can find out, due to the fact I cannot open working .tex files.

The files are a car's textures, yes? If so, it should be 2048x2048. I believe GP4 only excepts square textures, i.e 512x512 etc etc.

The size is 2048 as stated above, but still the same error comes up.

I'd like you to upload the tex file and post the link so we can have a look at it.

I can open it, in an image viewer in tga format and also in Slimtex. However, in Slimtex the layers are incorrect and it does not display all the data which can be seen in the tga format. Therefore as I can open it it is safe to assume that you have a problem with your version of Slimtex. Uninstall and re-install the latest version. If you already have the latest version I suggest you send a pm to Zaz detailing your error message.

No your not, do what I said. I also think you have alpha layer problems, however I did say I'm not an expert. I'll edit the topic header so more people can check your file.

Not entirely true, some cars have textures 2048 x 1024.

Helmet textures are not squared.

Steering wheel textures are not squared for Internals, external yes they are square.

Tyre textures are square.

Team Arts textures are not squared.

Reynaldo28@ Check Link: [rapidshare.com] I converted the files to .tex format.
Alpha channels are ok.

What I meant was it can't be like 1435x2133 i.e. completely random numbers. I mean, what you said (2048 x 1024) those numbers go into each other exactly.

I've never fiddled Stwheels textures or Team Arts, I didn't know about them not being square.

I'm sorry if I did make myself clear enough.

;)

Thanks JC2, but I don't really want to have to ask people every time I need them converted, as I am designing a few cars, then going to choose my favorite to race with.

Please stop squabbling, is there any fix to my problem?
Your .tga files look fine for me and I can load and save them in a .tex file with TexResizer without any trouble. So I don't know why they don't work with SlimTex.

Laurent@ check the link i posted some posts above. I converted his
.tga files to .tex using slimtex. They work well and i can see them even
with .tex format and alpha channels.
