GP4 support? What support??
Major bugs in game, especially with Windows XP .... "Yes, we are aware of
the problems and the soon coming patch will fix that all." they replied to
me ... well, no such luck eh? The patch is there now (at least, on the
German Infogrames site) but no real bug fixes. Oh no, wrong: there was a
patched patch because the first patch was bugged! The patch that will
resolve the real bugs in GP4 is probably in the add on we all can buy when
it hits the stores. Wanna bet?
The official GP4 site [
www.grandprixgames.com] ... never ever seen
such a joke ..... GP4 has been out for almost a year now but still most
links on that site say "Coming soon". Click on Community and support"....
well, a window appears:
- Patches: empty even while the patch is available.
- Links: wow, 2 links ... one to the FIA site and one to Infograme sites
- Hints and tips: wow, totally nothing, not even en empty window!
Oh wait!! I am wrong!! There is a FAQ!! I am dazzeled!! Lets see!? .... oh,
that's special: it's a Word document that opens in the same window ... and
the window can not be resized ... ah well, I guess the weblooser ... sorry,
webmaster just wanted to do this as quick as possible .. so we just have to
use the scrollbars to read it, very handy indeed. Mmm, most things in the
FAQ are pointing towards drivers, PC configuration, hardware, and so on.
Nothing wrong with GP4 if you have to believe the FAQ. And why bother to
make a downloadable FAQ?
"They only buy the game so why make some effort?" is the thought that
Infogrames seems to have.
This is really just a sign that all we are good for, is buying the game but
that's it. Why take the trouble to make a good site with support and a mail
address for support? Why take the trouble to make an effort in making a site
which can help and were we can get some REAL support!!??
Okay, there is always a game/company that gives worse support. But Infograms
is high in that list, at least when it comes to GP4. One thing is for sure
for me (and many others as I understood it): if GP5 ever will be there and
Infogrames is again involved in the same way as with GP4, I will not buy the
game.
GP4 is a cool great game, no doubt about it. It's just a big shame that
Infogrames treats the buyers like they do now.
