I'm interested too, but I think it can't be done. Maybe one day a HUD will be available without a patch...

Why don't you use CSM/GPxPatch? They are the two best tools for Gp4 around, and you're not using them...

You can only get those overlays and stuff with gpxpatch

No need CSM to update rev counter, speed counter, traction control, right panel or even graphics informations on screen but you need to install GPXpatch.

Once GPxpatch is installed: If you got new rev counter, speed counter, traction control right panel etc, put the folders into your pnl folder (GP4 installation folder/gpxdata/pnl)
Then, open GPXpatch, click on GPxCinfo, load your counters (smallpanel.ini) from the subfolders into the pnl folder and right panel (rightpanel.ini), eventually F1 logo or others panels.

For screen informations, (for example Mclarenaustralia's F1 graphics), install files into GP4 main folder/ Gpxdata/gfx folder.
Then launch GPXpatch, click on Gpxlap, choose ATL mode: Digital 2004. Finally, click on GpxSat, choose mode: Digital 2004. and click on Start GPx to launch the game.

Also, look at the readme file for installation informations...
