Explain this to me please

I had GeForce4 mx440 (64mb) and I was geting 32 frames/sec.
Now I`ve got Leadtek250LE TD (128mb) with GeForce4200 chip set and I can get only 33 frames/sec. at the same setings

Simple enough GP4 doesn't take much advantage of graphic card's features
It still count on the power of CPU.

So if I like to get more framse\sec. I must replace my Pentium4 1800 with a stronger one?

i keep asking this but why do people need 33fps? I run 17fps and with most setting on full (except reflections and heat haze cos they suck) and my game runs just as smooth as any other game.

I cant see the difference between my game and TV speeds

You might be able to get the same fps at a higher resolution now that you have twice the graphics memory. Have you tried my cfg?? the settings take some of the load off the cpu, thats whats wrong with the game. I am getting 40fps at 1024 and at certain points on the circuit the po is only 55

Ellis trust me....17fps is not as smooth as any other game. If you ever get to try it at 40 or 60 you will never go back.

But don't you have the same graphics card as me? (Gerforce 4 mx420?)

Cai, i have laed it on 30fps before, and wasnt hugly impressed with the difference

17fps is fine and i have all details on full except crap like heat haze and reflections.

I agree, I could run GP4 at 35 fps and get PO of about 80 - 90, nut i find it much , much better running it at 20 fps with po never going over 60. Its very smooth and i can tell ABSOLUTLEY NO DIFFERENCE WHATSOEVER !!!

TV = 25 but gives an effect of 30 - no point in going over that and the human eyes cant tell a huge difference

btw, why do you ppl always start "did you tweak that, did you lower the detail,...."

a guy with a P4 1.8GHz and a GF4 Ti4200 should run almost every game (except doom3, eh :P ) on full detail without any problems. If he ran it better on a slower card before, there is definitely a software problem. did you d/l the latest detonators? maybe you had FSAA disabled on MX, while its enabled on Ti, that could cause lower results.

I am d/l detonators drivers at the moment

17 fps is absolute shite!! its so jumpy, like not enuf frames a sec, put in up to like 30 and its smooth! ultra smooth!

i tryed the f1graphics, the game recommended 34 but it was near unplayable. i stuffed it down to 30 and its perfect :D much better then 18

300fps!! bloody hell thats amazing, not a lot of point though, over about 65fps the human eye cannot detect any difference

no, just turn all the graphics down :D ... there is a big difference between 60fps and 200-300fps, for example when playing instagib on 60fps i cant win hardcore bots, with 200+ fps its a piece of cake try it
