I'll try to back

hello everybody

I don't play GP4 since beginning of 2008, because my new job let me a few free hours per day.
So I will try to start playing again and do some updates (perf, physics and cameras)

I need some tips from you to start perf and physics files
Wich are the most important changes between last season and 2009 one?
According with the new rules (aerodinamycs and slicks tires)

greetings from Argentina

2009 18000 rpm now. Last year it was 19000.

Eso Mariano, los coches de este año tiene 18000rpm tope.
Con respecto a la parte aerodynamica tienen peor agarre comparado
al 2008.

Cheers Saludos :)

I would also think cars will have more oversteer and less understeer, but that's kinda obveous :p

more traction in slow corners (slicks) but less grip in fast corners (cut aerodynamics), less top speed.

I'de say topspeed will be about the same, small rearwing compensates the big frontwing

less downforce and more grip due the use of slick tyres :p

(Less aerodynamics and less downforce)=> Less Drag => Higher Top Speed

yes... i have seen some recent works that suggests "wing cars"... not follow this line of thought... the biggest problem is find data for analysis and this is not easy. :p

but the revs have been reduced once again...so it will cost some top speed, too.

I also don't think of any "wing-cars".
But as for data, we have the lap times from testing in Bahrain.
Best time recorded is 1:32.102 - less than 1sec more of 2008 season's best lap: 1:31.188 (in Q2 session).
Grip alone can not balance the reduced downforce and bring such results.
Also reduced downforce makes braking start earlier/last longer.
That's why I expect top speeds to be higher.
The gear ratios will be tuned to the new reduced limit of 18000rpm.
Anyway, we shall know after four weeks ;-) :)
Season start gets closer...

well ... possibly at 17000RPM, the V8 has about 870BHP... this is only a guess, OK? :p

as all already know, data are so difficult to obtain ... but not impossible :p

The V8's have around 725-750 hp right now due to the reduction in RPM.

possibly in 2006 specification? currently as no one knows for sure :p

Finally ! So no more people who post videos with overrevving engine sounds ! :D

I think that top speed will be the same as 2008
(less donwforce = more front wing + less rpm)

The max power engine isn't at top RPM, so less 1000RPM will not may affect the bhp, maybe if the engines must use for 3 weekends will be more reliable and with less bhp

With Melbourne laptimes will see the real diference between las year

Well Vasselon said that the Toyota engine had more power when on higher rpm's so it will affect some teams more than others, so yeah will have to wait till the season starts.
