So fast, 7 years passed......at that time, I was just a middle school student in China...now, I am a student in France....

I'm trying to reach the best result with the polycount around 20k.I was using the manual normals to get the best result.
This model looks as good as, even better than, my 35k one for rendering.

And is obviously better than the 7k one that I did 2.5 years ago, which also comes with manual normals.

Now the only problem, that's a big problem, the normals setting will be lost if I merge two objects in 3dsmax. Really a big problem coz I don't want to do the filped normals for another time.

Rended with VRay

I have stopped modding in fact, I am busy but I still enjoy the modeling and textures. I am still a member of CTDP and I am always ready to give my work to other CTDP members to make them in game.

Thanks everyone!

A Racing and Rail fan.

Another thing is.

I would like to give all my source for 2000 MOD to someone, who is skillful at painting textures and who is passionate to make MOD for GP4.

He must know some knowladges of mapping textures, and has a good reputation among the players.

Also he will be managed to make them into a MOD.

My sources are:

All 11 teams carshape(there are initial version, I already some upgraded version they are not for GP4,with LODs, no need to be modified, suspension to be made, Fe+Mc finsihed, Wi half finished)
5DRims(already finished, must work with GP4Tweaker)
Helmet shape.
Other things are in the preview version.

If you want them, please reply me and I need some to present him in replies, too.

I have only joined these forums 2 days ago but im amazed that people like the person that started this thread can make such beautiful and close to accurate models of the F1 cars over the past 20-30 years...

I indeed applaud all! :)

It would be a real shame not to see this mod in GP4

There must be some painters who can help with the painting side of things, but I appreciate that people are busy. I can do whatever needs doing to the shapes to get them in-game and mapping, but I would need help to preserve the normals - that I might need our friend Oggo for.

At 1:40 AM? I was probably sleeping... ;)
Anyway, thanks for suggesting me, Gui, really appreciate that. The problem is the same as always: time is limited. I'm busy with 1993 and 1994, plus some occasional projects like F2008. I'd love to help, but taking the whole process in my hands would take far too much time.
May I suggest Tony as "Mod Manager"? He's a skilled painter/mapper and would probably find a little trusted team to work on this! And this way I may also be able to help here and there with something :)

I can do some painting, I just need a template to work with. I have heaps of free time.
Scratch that I am now working on the A1GP mod.

working in zm will be easy to preserve the normals - just not to modify or calucaler them. but i'd rather pass the cars to an non-ctdp member, unless he is quite free from ctdp projects.
