How do I save the f1graphics.cfg as a cfg file and overwrite the original. I hope it helps me. I have Windows XP, P4 2GHz, 256 ddr ram, geforce 4 mx 420. I can run it medium to full graphics at 25 to 30 fps.

Simply close notepad and hit the "save changes" button when asked or "Save as: all files"

That doesnt work. I saved the link as .txt. Then opened it and clicked save as ALL FILES. Then I moved it into the GP4 directory but it didnt overwrite anything.

rightclick on the *.txt file in explorer, chose rename (or mark the file and press F2). Rename the file from fgraphics.txt to f1graphics.cfg and copy/paste it to your games directory, et voilá.

And don't forget, do not change the graphics settings in GP4's menu, because it alters your .cfg file.

or check "read only" again, thus the game cannot overwrite it anymore.

Look is this to et the graphics.cfg info into your current one? It's easy!

You just copy and paste the text into your own .cfg file (after deleting whats already in it) and that's it! Unless thats not what you're talking about...

this is the way i did it as i had the same prob.

1) opened the .cfg file in notebook
2) altered the file
3) then i went to file--------->save as
4) in the "save as" window i went to gp4 directory and double clicked "f1graphics.cfg"
5) there done! ur changes do are saved in the "f1graphics.cfg" file and it doesnt have a pic of a notebook on its icon........

thats the way i did it.

cheers
