GP4 Italia is close to the end...

Hi mates.

Unfortunately due to the expensive cost of the server (about 2000€ per year) we can keep in life our site for only other 2 months.
If we will not find a solution on 1st April 2009 (and we are not kidding) our portal will be definetly close.

We are very sad for this because of as you know gp4italia.org numbers are:
- 6Gb of free download files for users
- 600 unique visit per day
- more than 42.000 users
- more than 30.000 forum’s post

We are ready to change completelly our site graphic and layout if someone can support us paying 150€ server’s month bill to keep in life gp4italia.

Because of this reason we ask you to help us:
- or with a little donation using the apposite box in our site www.gp4italia.org
- finding a sponsor which would support our cause.

Maybe it's wise to move GP4 Italia to Blogspot/Blogger (F1 Virtual) and move all downloads to free file hosting sites, example Mediafile? (free account with unlimited storage and downloads.)

Man, I reaaly want to cooperate with you guys, but my financial condition is no good, I have to pay many things in the month (university aswell, because in Brazil we have poor quality in education). I realy want to help, but with money I can't....

I'll searching a solution in other forms....

I forgot a question: I doubt that any free-hosting accept our membership, 'cause too high number of daily connections...

Mediafire offers few packages.. Example 250,000mb of downloads each month - 110€/year or 1GB of downloads each month - 370€/year but probably those download limits are reached before even week is over.....

Yes i know.. ..I have to spend my money to lottery and maybe i win few millions and then i can find solution.

We did the same, due to the costs of the site and the file hosting, with no donations it makes it hard to maintain but weve found a good solution, hope you guys do too

You might want to let members upload some files to their own free webhoster, because when you have like 20 Mb on a free webhoster, whit bandwidth off like 1GB a month. The only thing about it is that you have no real control of the files on free webhosters of people.

Shecky do you have a statistic of what downloads are more active?
Example: What Mod causes a lot of download bandwith?

You can use a rapidshare premium account can host the mods or all the downloads.
These accounts have a daily download traffic of 4.5gb. They can store
up to 500gb, and you earn rapidshare points. Every 10.000 points you can
cash it in and get a free month. These accounts costs
around 56 Euros a year. I think its cheap compared to what you guys
pay. Even creating 2 rapidshare premium accounts you would have more
download bandwith capability than before and a lot cheaper.

Think about it.

Besides that, 4.5 GB a day is much to little if you look at Januari, Juli August, September and October...

That was until around half of last year. Now it changed.

Thats why i sugested in my previous post 2 accounts.
That would offer 9 Gb a day.

I can consider this possibility, even if we have an average bandwidth of 150 Gb monthly and 6 Gb of files....
