procesor occupancy problem

hi,,i have a problem,,i have a p4 1,7 gigas,,and a GeForce Ti 4400,,i thought with that configuration Gp4 would work fine,,,but my procesor occupancy is really massive,more than 200% sometimes,,,and the cars seems to run very very slow,,i suppose the problem is anything that i don t configure in the correct way,,but i don´t know what ,,if anyone have a solution .please tell me it,,thank you very much

Latest drivers for gfx card, sound card and motherboard.
Latest version of directx.
Turn off 3d sound acceleration in the sound options bit.
Search the forum for any other ideas, there have been loads of posts about this.
