Neither me or Lee will feel any guilt releasing this mod.. And as I said to you in an earlier post.. WHY DO YOU EVEN CARE!?!??!?!? FFS! It's only you in this forum who think converting the original cars from a 5 year old game to GP4 is leeching, how come? We will release this mod, don't matter whay you think. And if it makes you feel better, I contacted EA.. the response i got was practicly... "WE DON'T CARE" So could you plz stop bitching around in our thread and find other ppl who want to be bothered?

once again, IF YOU THINK THIS IS LEECHING, DON'T DONWLOAD THE MOD!!!!!!!!!!!!

if you don't get the message, I don't know what to do with you!

What a great pile of bullshit! Some people think they're clever and say what people can do or not... well, I quote a famous philosopher right now: "if you don't like it, don't use it"

Thanks you very much and now please go back to normal mode

so... from what i understand... every single mod for GP4 is leeched? because it modifies a commercial game using parts of it without permission...

ok then... let's stop playing...

I've dragged my ass back here & decided to post this as i've been watching this
conversion with interest.from what i can see it's pretty clear the conversion is from f1 challenge &
theres been no attempt to hide this or claim ownership of the content. In the
past when i used tracks as a base i did the same.
let it be known it was a conversion from sim "A" etc.
my codemasters content tracks were tagged "trd" in release posts & read me files stated the origin of the content.

The issue being dragged into this post is leeching...
this is using content, be it car/track/textures/sounds/helmets/ content etc &

maybe changing or not, some small pieces then trying to pass it off as your own.

i.e leeching.

so mention of leeching is not in the topic of this conversion post as this is

fully acknowledged as a conversion & no claim that it is an original work.

no permissions have been given for this conversion & if it bothers
anyone that much.please contact EA sports in this case & report it.
then leave this post to the relivant topic please.

if you seriously have nothing better to do than post on this forum with the intention
of causing trouble ,think about a new hobby. i hear jumping of the side of a cliff with lead weights tied to yourself is becoming popular..

the thing is, I tried to contact EA but got the answer from an automatic e-mail that said at this case does not exist in their database.. I think that says alot...?

@ SkaningeN, I think EA wont see a problem of it. It is clear that, when you are going to publish it togehter with Lee, you will say that basic work comes from EA. It is a conversion , not leeching.

Jimbob, go jump off a cliff then if its so great, it suits you... especially if you get personal and cant talk through an issue or hear an oppinion.

i care less about the mod being made then the attitudes of the forum members here relating to leaching, and especially when people try to put together a mod, and permission is required from absolutely everyone, and they are slagged off for not having permission for one particular helmet tex painted by forum member x. sometimes it seems like an exclusive club in here, people see their cars modified in a screenshot (for personal use) and they are up in arms like a raging idiot to shoot down the person who is probably just a kid and enjoying playing gp4.
All im saying is live by your principles forum members and get permission.
Otherwise this may happen in time:
This mod will get published, then someone uses some files from this mod for another work, or edit a car and post it in screenshots thread, and they will get totally slagged by the forum regulars for not adhering to the readme.txt of SkaaningeN and Lee, in a way SkaaningeN taking over the rights of the car. It wasnt an issues with earlier converted mods by Lee, as they arent popular and few play them, but a full season F1 mod may be a different story.

Its funny how people are slagging me, and all im saying is follow your own rules, ask for permission. If you dont get a reply from EA then tough, there is a guy in these forums asking for permissions for a long time now to release a mod 96 or 97 which is also just conversion, and he is following the rules and waiting for replies.

My mods arent popular lol, who cares, i like em thats all that matters to me. I always say if you dont like it dont use it. And bitching about it doesnt change anything. What about the BMW 08 converted from rfactor,is that stolen too ? Cant be bothered posting back at this moron anymore.

Let us who want it know where to get the mod when you roll it out. :)

As for EA, I'm not concerned with their profit margin, especially when it comes to a mod played on my own personal computer for my own personal use ...
