Hi Tony!

Congratulations, mate, well done!

But I can´t try this piece of art :(

I downloaded it as single file, un compressed tuh file to a folder, and renamed both dat and wad files...

But after 60% loading game crashes to desktop.

What should I have done I didn´t?

Best regards and thanks for this new track!

Gildoorf@ ill download the track and have a look at the problem. Maybe
the env maps have something to do with the crashes. I remember i solved
like that some problems of conversions from a TSM track to normal format
of a track.

This is such a great track - about as good as it gets with GP4 i think. There's a few small bugs here and there, and I would like to see more 3D trees - but I guess it'll take a big PO hit. Awesome, had a great time driving it last night :)

yes, it is great fun to drive! its also possible to have a massive barrel roll at turn 1 if you touch another car (as i did) ;)

I think already the .wad is huge 74.8 mb.
I also think for low - mid end pc`s probably a very
good impact on PO. Anyway nothing to worry, easy
to fix with slimtex :)

Thanks for the kind words all :)
There is a 300,000 vertice limit for tracks in GP4 (apparently) and our tracks usually reach that easily, so we need to compromise a bit.
Report any bugs and there might be an update one day :)

@gildoorf - 'What should I have done I didn´t?'

Use TSM :-p

Not everyone plays using Tsm.
Also you have the Gp4 Race Leagues
wich they do not use Tsm too.

Like some corners from TV-cam, in between the grass and the track you can see flashes of the reflection of the car, and also if you drive off line at some places something flashes on my screen. But as I say these are very small glitches, and doesn't affect my enjoyment at all

Hi Tony and Mark

Thanks to you and some other guys, 2009 will be a great year for GP4 :)

Very cool track you delevered, Mark and Tony :)

THe graphics are great and I especially like the other layouts and pitlane and of course the amazing buildings :)

But the .wad file is very huge. Did you use so many different textures? DO they have the correct format?
And you should pay more attention to the cc-line next time and for other tracks...it could be better in some sections...if you need help with cc-line just give ma a shout :)

Apart from that...niccccceeeeeee ;-)

The track is just amazing but i noticed that a few advertising boards that are placed next to the circuit are placed reverse. The boxes are white and in rear view or when you passed you can read the text of them, see picture:

Think that's the idea mate

So if your watching racing at Le Mans on TV you see the adverts

Doesn't matter if the drivers can see them :)

I am having similar problem getting the Le Mans track to work in the 2006 DTM mod as well as with most other mods. Crashes about 60-75% during loading of the track. I have removed and reinstalled seperate downloaded track as well as the 2006 DTM track pack with same results.

Thanks again, i think with Lausitzring they are my best track so far....

Yes, but we tried to do something different, like the land overlays. And this track doesn't use any jip's anymore, i think in tv-style it looks much better but the disadvantage is it needs large textures. The other part is we tried to make the track as good as we can, so the size of the wad didn't matter me to much, sorry. Of course Jorge had the solution already, it's a easy fix with Slimtex. Everyone who would have smaller wad, i would advise to resize the truck, pitstands and boxes first.
Overall i think sizes of the track wads will increase in future (as long as we continues)

I know cc-line are one of my weakest points and one of your strongest. I tried to make the cc realistic to the real life, they don't drive just on the tarmac as you can see in real life. But tell me what parts are bad and how to improve them...Maybe you can make one and release a new cc for this track, feel free.

Thanks amigo

fongu @ also thank you for your comment and nice words, maybe when i get motivated to work on this track again i will fix it. For sure it's great to drive your fantastic cars on this track.

samsung @ what Ferrari2007 told you, that's the awnser....

Richard J@ what if you try to load just this track, not just the whole trackpack or any mod. It should be fine. TSM works best with a clean install, maybe it's biggest disadvantage of TSM. If you can't solve it, ask again on the GPX forum, maybe Ronald can help to solve the problem.

The latest things i would like to say is this, there has been a lot of fights around this forum about leeching. I don't want to get involved into this discussion, because i love this hobby of my to much. Maybe i paid to much attention to it in the past, so i'm sorry for that and to everybody i didn't gave permission to use something which i made.
I think most track are not mine at all, except the track which are made completely from scratch like: Le Mans, Zandvoort, Lausitzring, Brno..
So for all other tracks like Spa, Hockenheim, Nurburgring, Monaco etc etc, it's free to use for everyone, you don't have to ask permission at all. For the scratch build tracks, just ask please...
Maybe some will ask why i'm writing this down. I still get a lot of request for permission to edit tracks of mine, so here they are all together.... Another thing is hopefully new guys will start to edit tracks, if i can help anyone to start building just let me know.

Sorry for this way too long message

As i told next stop WSC 1989; Brands Hatch

Grtz

MarioB@ I would like to congratulate you for this track its simply
fantastic. Such high quality, details, just love it.
Personally i would not touch the .wad because i like it as the quality
it is.

Im not new as you know, but would like to learn how to do
a track from scratch. I read the tutorials that are out their
but its not exactly the same and most of the guides are outdated.
Any possibility to teach me please. Im not a total noob, i know how to
do certain things like put a sky doom into a .wad and adding some textures
but no clue how to a track from scratch and its one of the things that
i would really like to learn. My dream is to build Fiorano Track.

Ok, but what about other guys that were involved in those tracks?
Would they give permission too and be friendly like you? This a
honest question because of what happend on one my threads and im sure
from what you wrote you are aware of it.

Kind regards
Jorge.

Thanks, Jorge.
Don't forget Tony's job;
I think he builds the best dat's, and the idea about the overlay is his. He did many things to improve the track to what it is now.
Same as TTM, thanks for your wall/kerb/advertisement textures.
And let's not forget the person who all makes this possible: Laurent

Sure i will help you, just send me a pm and we talk about it.
Don't worry if i will not reply your messages; at the moment i'm very busy at work and i'm not much at home, but i will reply and help you with the track.

About permission:I have talked about it with Tony, (because last years i have build most tracks together with him) and he agreed, so that's no problem. Same as TTM, i know it doesn't matter him to much. For the really old tracks: Erwin didn't matter years ago same as Laurent. I don't know about Ricardo Lampert, i haven't seen him around for years. So maybe for those tracks you can ask him.
About some dtm tracks like Norisring, Oschersleben, actually i don't know because i didn't build them, i just did some updates and some small work on them.

About what happened to you, please please forget it. And both start over again. I know Tony very well, and he is a very nice guy and very helpful. I don't know you to well but you seems to be a nice guy as well. I know there was a conflict in the past and i didn't want to get involved then and for sure not now. But gp4 community is getting smaller every year, there are not that many people around anymore. But we all have one thing in common; to make great mods for this fantastic game. So let's all start over and try to work together. Maybe you can start with a F1 mod; 2008/2009 and Tony & co will do some other stuff like WSC '89, older F1 mods. So if we discuss about it together we can have more different mods, why should there be 2 or 3 different F1 '08 mods or different ones. And if we can help you with those things, why not and visa versa. Why should you build a new F1 track if someone else did it already? Same as cars, helmets and other stuff. But i just can give you permission to what i have build, but hopefully others will do so.

But just again Jorge; please forget it and let's work together....

And please if anyone doesn't agree my message, please send me a pm and don't start fighting on this forum.

Hopefully 2009 will be gp4 finest year and maybe his last year....

Grtz
