I have done some modifications to Lee's dry tyres, just get rid of the greentint that Lee's versions had so I have changed the format of texture for better quality
Lee's on left and better qualityformat textures on the right:

in game(shots are unedited but the quality is not the best because they are taken with laptop and saved in jpg format with paint):

also I have updated Enzojz wet tyres a little bit, changed alphas and added white line (but it still needs work):

Theres no green tint on those wheels, when i painted them the whole image was desaturated so dont see how theyre green, remember when converting from tga to tex it loses quite a lot of quality, and now youve converted back to tga to re edit then back to tex just makes them lose even more quality. If its a tex compression issue i can always resave them as i still have the psd files ;)

textures don't lose the quality at all even if I have converted your tyres to .tga files.your textures were fine when they were in tga format but when u convert them to tex format they do lose quality and get that little green tint that you can see from the screenshots I posted. but there is away taht textures won't lose the quality when converted from tga to tex, you can do it with slimtex :

when you have a texture as a tga
1.open the slimtex
2. go to the tab batch to tex
3.click your right button of your mouse
4.then there is a DDS and arrow to the choise of DXT1-5 etc textures... instead of picking up DXT texture, pick up A8R8B8G8 and your texture won't lose the quality almost at all.
5. then rightmouse click again and press full transparency and mipmaps--->4
6. then press convert and done

that's the way I did it after I had edited textures with paintshop pro, now textures don't have texture loss (green tint) on them only downside is bigger texture size (1,32 mb)

anyway Lee your tyres are perfect (: I only had to make them for better quality format because in my desktop pc my graphic card settings make the green tint look very bad in game so this way I did get rid of the problem :D

What's the difference between A8R8B8G8 and DXT fromat?

I don't know the real difference between them but it seems A8R8B8G8 does keep the tga quality but does save it in .tex/dds format unlike DXT that will loss some quality when it's converted to the tex file. I'm sure ZaZ does know the answer :D

just done some tests using that A8R8B8G8 format, the quality isnt that good in game,it keeps the alpha channel but doesnt show it,the colours of the tyres are pretty much matt black with no sheen at all and the gradient colours of the sidewalls look really poor.Gonna post a couple of comparison screens.

Vesa, check your PMs for some images of wet tyres :)

Format comaprison shots..I personally think the difference is huge and dxt5 although quite lossy in quality has to be used to keep the gradients and alphas looking ok. Tyres with no shine at all and dodgy gradients dont look good.
Just my opinion.

definately those screenshots show that we should use DXT5 indeed...however in my game the quality of the A8R8B8G8 does look better than with DXT5 but maybe it's graphic setting related thing, who knows :)
