What Graphic's Card ?

Having recently built a computer;

Abit KG7 Motherboard.
AMD Athlon XP1700.
512mb DDR Ram.
Nvidia Riva TNT64 32mb Graphic's Card.
Soundblaster Live 5.1

I could not afford a better graphic's card at the time of building my computer, but now I am thinking of upgrading.
Anyone have any idea's about which graphic's card would suit my system?
Obviously like everyone I would like to run GP4 as it was intended to run with all the bell's & whistle's on maximum.
Anybody got a similar system to mine?
Any help from you fellow racer's would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

To get the best from your system your looking at the GF3 or GF4 cards.

The GF3 cards still tend to be quite expensive, so I'd go for a GF4, but not the MX ones. You can get a GF4 Ti4200 for about £150, or a Ti4400 for about £200. If you can really splash out £300 will get you the amazing Ti4600.

I have been pricing new cards myself the last week or so. I am considering buying one from Dabs, from their "value" range. Prices seem good.

this is a good price particularly

GF3 Ti200 is easily good enough.

I've got a Gainward GeForce4 Ti4200, £130 from my local computer shop. Definately worth it.

Other than the Gainward card (which doesn't seem to be mentioned on U.S. websites), what other manufacturers might be preferred for a ti 4600 card? Is Visiontek or PNY trusted brands? I remember being disapointed with several Diamond cards because they used propritary tools and drivers that sort of dummied up the chips capabilities.

A damn good card!

I'd recommend a GeForce 4 Ti4200. Same price as the GeForce 3's and better performance. Since, like me, you have an ABIT motherboard, why don't you go for the ABIT Siluro. I bought one from DABS.COM, and have been very happy with the performance.
