My comp always seems to freeze when I am using the new GP4Builder. I can't work on it for more than 10 minutes and then everything stops and the mouse still moves but I can't go ctrl-alt-delete or anything and I have to restart. Anyone else had this problem???

i got this problem when i'm using the Jip mapping preview; deleted the two tga files for jip mapping preview all gone perfect, no slow/freezing GP4 builder and works good.

Do you have an ATI like me?

Does anyone have the same problem that when you open the GP4 file you can zoom in and out but can't rotate the whole track or car?

Problem: when I detach a face to another part the surface beaviour of the target part is set back to custom.
For example: I have a runoff area with grass and tarmac. Now I want to change it, f.e. I want to add more tarmac, so I detach some grass faces to the part with the tarmac texture.
The tarmac face had tarmac behaviour before but now it is set to custom and I have to change it manually again.
Could you fix that so that the target part keeps its behaviour I have set before?

Well, I designed it this way.
When you detach a face to another part, you do not always want this face to get the face behaviour of the target part.
So face is detached and keep his own behaviour.
And if this behaviour is different than the behaviour of the other faces in the target part, then global target part behaviour is displayed as "custom" to show that part is made of faces with different behaviours.

The custom behaviour is not a GP4 behaviour at all, it's just a flag I introduced in GP4Builder to say the part had different faces behaviours and that's the face behaviours themselves that are interpreted by the game. So no need to remove custom each time but if you want to convert your grass faces to tarmac but then, that's your choice.

Not that I know but there's a polygon/face limit per scene.
Check the file menu/file details to be sure your scenes are not overpopulated.

i've extracted some teamstands and boxes from a track file to use them in another track, but there are all single files now. Is there a chance to connect them again, so that i can add them as one MISCTSO to the new track?

Load them to zmodeller.
For first one import it and for the rest use Merge.

Remember 3ds are not good for GP4Builder when you have 2
or more textures for 1 object, so you need to export it as
.gp4.

@drt01 : 65535 faces/scenes. For the number of scene, I don't know, theoreticaly : 255 at least.

@quickslick : import them one by one and use the group feature to gather them in a single object (you can also do that before exportation).
