MORBID!!- JUST BOUGHT GP4- DOESN'T EVEN START?

hi morbid/everyone,

just loaded gp4, full install. i double click the gp4.exe, safedisc screen comes up then screen goes black then crashes back to desktop. it didn't even get as far as playing the intro.

my system is

AMD ATHLON XP 1700
NVIDIA GFORCE2 TI 64MB
128MB RAM

Thanks for the vote of confidence canveyboy. I would like to help, but I am not sure that I can. If SafeDisc isn't the problem, you might want to check out the fix described by seemsnice in this thread:

Its no beauty, but if it works, it works.

Also, If you are using Thrustmaster software, there is a "can't load game" problem description and complete workaround in the bug list.

If it doesn't we will probably need some more info, like hardware, drivers version, directx info and what programs you have running in the systray while attempting to start the game.

You could also try the Infogrames helpdesk (address on the back of the game manual) or the Infogrames support department (address can be found on this forum).

my system is win98se, also tried the nocd patch and it didn't work.

Happend to me too. I got the latest Video Driver and away she went! At a stunning 17fps Wow. That still has a heap of stuff turned down or off.

Geoforce MS 460
512K ram
Pentium P3 800
Win 2000

Still, it works and is pretty cool!
