Small GP4 issues - anyone else got them?

Gp4 runs very well on my system, but with a few minor annoyances.
First, my intro video is very choppy, and unwatchable.
Second, whenever I change resolution in the graphics options I Crash To Desktop. I have to reboot the PC to get GP4 to restart.
Third, I get random crashes in the menu system, especially setup screens when adjusting the value of a setting.
I run Win98SE, PIII-800, GeforceII MX 400, and a Soundblaster Live value.
I've tried different video drivers (23.11 and 12.41), updated my sound drivers and dropped the level of sound acceleration, but no improvement.
Anyone else got this, or know how to cure it?

Cheers,
Gareth Evans

The first seems to be the same for us all.

The second should not happen, and can be a driver related problem.

The third is very interesting. I am running the forum bug list, and have yet to be the only one to be able to crash the setup menu. Could you please check the report in the bug thread, and confirm if it is the same? And if it is not could you please describe how you problem is different?

Thank you very much.

Try the video that pops up when you start a championship season. I am confident it will freeze a bit/stutter. And if i does not, I would very much like to know.

Hi Gareth.

Well some of your problems are also experienced by me.

well my intro is unwatchable. And i always crash bak to desktop whenever i try to enter the track.

I have found out that it's my 4mb vga problem.

I dunno of yours, but it is happening.

MAny people r unlucky.

Hei if you have intel motherboard than we can say it's a mother board problem.

I don't have any problems with the intro on my system either. It's only a PIII 450 (OCd to 540) and a VooDoo3 3000, so something must be up.

Interesting. The game runs like a dog on my work machine (P4-1.6, crappy Vanta video card, Windows XP) but the videos are perfect. So is it OS, CPU, or graphics card? Who can tell?!
